Every Sunday, the Qatar Living content team will share their personal recommendations for everything from apps to films and brunches this week in Qatar. As a multinational group, there's a diversity of choices and preference that we hope will cater to everybody.
1. Qatar International Food Festival (2018)
I visited QIFF over the weekend and I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. This year’s festival is huge, and has more than 177 participants between hotels, restaurants and embassies. The variety of cuisines are incredible. There are so many that it is almost impossible to try them all. I stopped by the Doha Marriott’s booth and the food was very good. The hotel is represented by their Indian restaurant Tajine. I also stopped by the Four Season’s booth and must say their offerings were nice as well. I also recommend trying Viva Mexico and Evergreen.

2. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
Bored of Call of Duty already? Here's a challenging game title if you're into tactical shooting games. I have been playing R6S for months now and it only gets better the more you play it.
Two years since the game released, this game's player base has grown tremendously. I think it's because Ubisoft got their basics right on this one. Two teams of five operators face off in round-based matches, first to win three rounds takes the match (best of five).
There are no unlimited respawns (welcome to the real world) and the teams alternate between attacker and defender. The first team to eliminate the opposition or complete the game mode objective wins.
The R6S experience is better if you're playing with your friends as the game requires quite a bit of coordination. I mean, you could ditch your teammates and have your own lone-wolf strategy, but that never ends well for your team.
This game is a must-try if you love shooting games. Call of Duty fanboys may need a bit of getting used to as patience and sound tactics are key to winning matches in this game.
3. QL Adventures: QPW Wrestling Academy
So you guys know me by now, I'm, a HUGE wrestling fan, that's why I'm recommending our latest QL Adventures video. I got a taste of the world of bumps and promos with the guys from the Qatar Pro Wrestling Academy. It was a total bucket list moment for me, and here's hoping its the start of my professional wrestling career. Anybody need a manager ala Bobby The Brain Heenan?

4. THIS ROCK THAT I FOUND WHILE I WAS WALKING TO THE STORE NEAR MY HOUSE TO BUY SOMETHING
Found this rock near my house. It’s slightly used but still in good condition. Looks perfect for bashing things in, throwing through windows or any other rock-related activities. Interested buyers can contact me directly at 3348 4322 or at jordan@qatarliving.com for additional details.
Price is negotiable.

5. Born a Crime
I was going through Instagram recently, and I came across these posts by two of my favorite people. Trevor Noah and Lupita Nyong’o. They revealed that Lupita will be starring as Trevor’s mother in a movie adaptation of his book Born a Crime.
Before it comes out, l’m recommending, first, a read of the funny man’s book.
Born a Crime, is an autobiography of the life of Noah growing up as a mixed-race child in South Africa during the apartheid.
The story is gripping and sad but told with Noah’s comedic touch.
You’ll learn about the strength of Trevor’s mother and the challenges she faced raising her child during that period.
His witty sense of humor translates even on paper, reinforcing the fact that the stand up comedian was the right choice to Jon Stewart as host of The Daily Show.
If you’re looking for a good read this week, I recommend you pick up Born a Crime, in anticipation of what seems to be a promising movie.

6. The Backyard
I went to The Backyard this weekend and it was absolutely amazing. The music was lively; the energy was exuberant, mixed with a casual aesthetic putting itself out there as one of my favorite places in Doha. If you’re like me and not bothered enough to dress up for a good time, I think this would be a good place for you too.

7. Scream Queens
This absurd show is, in the words of Emma Roberts (one of the main characters/antagonists), "Mean Girls meets Friday the 13th." Aside from being "laugh-out-loud funny, it's edge-of-your-seat scary and everyone is wearing Chanel. What other reasons do you need [to watch]?"
Put a bunch of horribly hilarious spoilt girls in university together (season 1), then a phony hospital (season 2), add an antagonistic Dean, incredibly stupid boys and a murderer and you have the perfect show. It's great for when you get tired of the propoganda of political correctness that has terrorised the media lately.
Don't take it too seriously.
