Antica Pesa is famous Italian chain, they have branches in Rome and Brooklyn.
Toro Toro is the brainchild of celebrity chef and Richard Sandoval. If you like Latin American food, then Toro Toro will please your palate. They offer dishes from Brazil, Peru, Argentina, Mexico, and Venezuela.
Nozomi completes the threesome by bringing the best Asian seafood to Doha.

2. Summer sale at Sports Corner
I am going to be hitting the gym real soon to get back in shape, but then I realized I needed to get a new pair of trainers and a bunch of other sportswear essentials. Fortunately for me, Sports Corner has this massive sale going on till May 13th.
Sports Corner is offering almost 30-40% discounts on shoes, training outfits and gym equipment. The sale is on at all Sports Corner branches in Qatar. If you're looking for some new training gear, take advantage of this big sale.
For more information about the sale, visit www.sportscorner.qa or call 4036 2211. Enjoy shopping!

3. Ohannes Restaurant (Al Sadd)
I initially tried Ohannes when they had a stall at this year's QIFF, and even through the small sampler I had I knew they were something special. This week I decided to try their restaurant in Al Sadd to get the full experience. Their food is without a doubt something worth shouting about. Ohannes is Middle Eastern cuisine at its finest, with a great atmosphere and family friendly service to match. Personal recommendations are the Gigot in Oven (succulent lamb and spices cooked for over 4 hours) and their refreshing Laban Ayran. My only wish is that I could eat here every night!

4. LIKE A VELVET GLOVE CAST IN IRON (1993)
Written and illustrated by alternative comics legend Daniel Clowes, Like a Velvet Glove Cast in Iron is a noirish, surreal story about a man who goes in search of his ex-wife after he sees her in an “art film”. We follow our main character as he spirals down an unsettling urban wasteland: meeting bathroom-stall oracles, mutant waitresses, apocalypse cults, angry men with hairplugs, and dogs with secret messages tattooed on their skin. Like a Velvet Glove Cast in Iron is a dense, Freudian epic with a paranoid plot that burns into your brain - a nightmare told with absolute clarity.
Read it if you liked David Lynch’s Blue Velvet (1986).

5. Fuwairit beach
This week I’m recommending a trip to Fuwairit beach. It is certainly one of the most beautiful beaches in Qatar, if not the most.
Besides a dazzling sea of crystal clear water, and luscious white sand, catching a sunrise or sunset there is breathtaking. It would also make for a great BBQ hangout.
The road getting there is a bit bumpy, but that only adds an element of adventure to the trip.
And now you do not need a 4x4 car to get there. The off-road path that leads to the beach has been recently flattened, so you get there even with saloon car.

6. Fullmetal Alchemist (now on Netflix)
I’m pretty much on an Anime roll people, so this week is gonna be Fullmetal Alchemist, the first one not Brotherhood. It’s basically a story about two brothers who travel the world looking for the Philosopher’s Stone journeying to new lands, battling enemies, visiting and working with friends, finding out more of themselves and sacrificing for one another. For an anime this has a lot of depth to it, just go watch it. It’s on Netflix.

7. Leviathan (2014)
This award-winning film follows a Russian fisherman who fights back when a corrupt mayor tries to seize possession of his ancestral home. Andrey Zvyagintsev is one of my favourite directors, and if you enjoy this film, be sure to watch Vozvrashchenie (2003) or 'The Return'. His films tend to be heavily laced with metaphors, but Leviathan is also just a good, straight-up portrayal of the power of a corrupt beauraucracy and its ability to crush the spirit of an honest man that technically should have the law on his side.
