The Ministry decided to reopen the registration process upon public demand, noting that the ministry's website and the Aoun mobile application are both available for registration.
Participants in a recent panel discussion hosted by the Ministry of Interior's General Directorate of Traffic emphasized the importance of people camping according to the rules and circumstances, as well as following all security and safety protocols.
The panel discussion, which was attended by General Directorate of Traffic officials and officers, representatives from camping authorities, and a number of school students, was part of the General Directorate of Traffic's awareness plan aimed at reducing the number of violations and traffic accidents during the winter camping season 2021-2022.
The Head of the Technical Inspection Section, Lieutenant-Colonel Ali Al Baridi, highlighted the conditions and procedures for registering semi-trailers and caravans, as well as the necessity of meeting the registration requirements and ensuring that safety requirements are met.
Major Dr. Muhammad Sulaiman Al Hammadi, Head of the Traffic Awareness Section, confirmed that all preparations for a comprehensive campaign to raise the level of safety in camping areas during the 2021-2022 season have been completed, with the goal of achieving a traffic environment free of accidents, particularly in Al Udeid and Sealine beaches.
Patrol police officer Captain Khaled Al Khater said the Southern Traffic Section was putting in place a plan to secure traffic in the camping areas.
This includes increasing traffic patrols to organize caravan movement and escort them to wilderness areas, as well as preparing patrols to monitor external roads, entrances to and exits from camping areas, and emphasizing the speedy response of traffic patrols to reports and intervention in cases of emergency in coordination with the ambulance serive and the General Directorate of Civil Defence.
The key of maintaining animals in wild locations, according to Salem Hussein Al Safran, Assistant Director of Natural Reserves at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, is to stick to designated camping areas and avoid natural reserves.
He mentioned that the organizers' method this season is to collect caravans in specified locations before dispersing them to authorized camping spots, arguing that this helped to reduce overcrowding.
