Multi-award-winning restaurant Hoppers London has opened its first international branch in Qatar at Msheireb Downtown. Hoppers Doha is inspired by the Sri Lankan coconut plantations and the food is prominently influenced by South Indian and Sri Lankan flavors. Driven by the desire to bring these flavor palates to central London, co-founder and creative director, Karan Gokani started Hoppers London and soon went on to open two other branches. Hoppers Doha is the brand’s fourth branch and first international branch outside of the UK.

The founders of the restaurant took inspiration from home cooking styles and from roadside stalls of Sri Lanka and Southern India. The menu features a lot of staples from both cuisines with many dishes from the coastal regions as well. True to its name, Hopper’s serves delicious egg hoppers alongside rotis, rolls, kothu parotta, and dosas of different varieties. These can be paired with their classic curries including Chicken Burrani, Bone marrow Varuval, Green Mango Prawn Curry, sambols, chutneys, and many more.

Sweet tooths are in for a treat with their all-new dessert menu that caters to the local audience and includes creations such as the Masala Chai crème brulee, sizzling date and banana cake, and pandan & lychee tropical sundae. Hoppers’ impressive non-alcoholic drink selection is great to pair with their food. Drinks on offer include mocktails, crushes, iced teas, milks, and faloodas.  

Hoppers Doha’s ambiance is warm and inviting as guests are greeted by a monolith concrete bar featuring intricate patterned tiles and rattan ceilings. The warm lights invite patrons to relax and dine, while the soft music playing through the restaurant pays homage to the streets of Colombo. Hoppers’ eclectic décor features handicrafts and custom-made artwork from Sri Lanka and South India. The vibrant mezzanine features a veranda that offers diners a view of the bustling Downtown square of Barahat Msheireb. The restaurant blends effortlessly into its surrounding at Msheireb Downtown while also retaining the familiarity of its sibling restaurants in London.
