Education has always remained one of the top priorities for Qatar.
In addition to creating new avenues for educational opportunities for those in the country, Qatar has also worked hard to support the education of needy, underprivileged children across the globe.
Under this ambition to promote education Qatar’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) joined hands with the Education Above All (EAA) Foundation as well as Qatar Charity and Afif Foundation to set up the first Ihsan School in the country last year.
The school provides free-of-cost education to children from Asian communities in Qatar, who have never attended a school due to financial limitations.
Now, Qatar has opened its doors to the Second Ihsan School, specifically for underprivileged children from Arab communities.
MoEHE has provided the building for the school, which covers an area of 6,000 square meters.
According to His Excellency the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali Al Hammadi, the Ministry will also manage the school’s maintenance, security and academic supervision.
The school can accommodate as many as 12 classes and employs at least 48 teachers and administrative staff.
The school will cater to Arabic-speaking children, boys and girls, who have never previously enrolled in a school. It follows the Qatari curriculum and is totally free of cost.
Currently, the school benefits as many as 482 students, the supervisor of Ihsaan School, Dr Yahya Al Agha said.
