The third day of 2022 saw a soar in the number of Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in Qatar, with the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) reporting 1,177 cases.
At the community level, cases have increased to 826. The travelers account for 351 cases. This sums up the total number of Covid-19 cases as 1,177.
The active cases include 6842 people. A number was as high as 253,536 for the total number of positive Covid-19 cases recorded in Qatar as of now.
The total number of people who tested till today amounts to 3,191,651. Out of which, 5,364 have tested for the first time in the last 24 hours. A sum of 33,663 tests were taken in the past 24 hours.
A sum of 346 Covid-19 patients have been hospitalized, out of which 74 are severe. Along with the existing 32 Covid-19 patients, the MoPH announced that the number of ICU intakes in the past 24 hours has been 4.
Qatar battled through the pandemic having a total of 618 deaths to date. Fortunately, Jan 3 witnessed zero fatalities. A total of 246,076 recovered cases have been noted; comprising of 186 recoveries in the past 24 hours.

Booster doses administered till today: 290,818
Since the commencement of the vaccination campaign, a total of 5,224,040 Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered.
Nearly two years have passed, yet Covid-19 poses a hazard to the country. It is crucial for all of us to play our part in containing the virus and preventing its further spread by following precautionary measures:
- Compliance with social distancing
- Prevention of close contact with others, congested places, and cramped closed spaces where other people gather
- Wearing a face mask
- Sanitize regularly.
