Qatar’s Department of Meteorology has said that the weather inshore in the country until 6pm today will be partly cloudy to cloudy, with a chance of scattered and thundery rain.

The department, in its daily weather report, said the night would be relatively cold. It also warned people of strong winds and asked them to expect thundery rain in places.

Offshore, the weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy, with a chance of scattered rain, maybe thundery at times. It also warned people of strong winds and high sea.

Wind inshore will be in the northwesterly direction, at a speed of 12 to 22 knots, gusting to 32 knots at times. Offshore, winds will be northwesterly, at a speed of five to 25 knots, reaching a maximum speed of 34 knots at times.

Sea waves may climb three to five feet inshore, while offshore, they will be four to eight feet, rising up to 12 feet at times.

Visibility inshore will be four to nine kilometres, and three kilometres or less during thundery rain. Offshore, visibility will be five to nine kilometres, with it being three kilometres or less during thundery rain.
