Qatar’s Department of Meteorology has warned that there are chances of strong winds and poor horizontal visibility inshore, alongside high seas offshore, in the country this week.

Inshore weather will range from hot to very hot during the day. Slight to blowing dust will reduce visibility to 5 to 9 kilometres, potentially dropping even lower in some areas. Conditions are expected to become milder by night.

Winds will blow northwesterly inshore, at speeds of 15 to 25 knots. Wind gusts could reach up to 35 knots in certain locations before decreasing to 9 to 19 knots by night.

Conditions will remain fine offshore, but warnings of strong winds and high seas remain. Northwesterly winds will blow at 12 to 22 knots, with gusts going up to 32 knots. The sea inshore will range from two to five feet, while offshore conditions will see waves between three to seven feet, rising to a peak of 10 feet. Visibility offshore is anticipated to be between five to 10 kilometres.

Residents and maritime operators are advised to exercise caution and stay updated with the latest weather forecasts.
