The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced that the Tilted Interchange tunnel will be opened to traffic from Al Gharrafa towards Al Rayyan on Sunday evening.

The interchange tunnel is part of Ashghal's Khalifa Avenue road project, which is implemented in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic.

To facilitate the opening of the new tunnel and accelerate the completion of the remaining works at the Tilted Interchange, Ashghal has announced that it will implement a temporary traffic diversion for a month.

During the closure, traffic from Al Luqta Street and main Al Gharrafa Street through the Tilted Intersection signals will not be able to go toward Huwar Street.

Road users will have to continue moving toward Gharrafat Al Rayyan Interchange and follow the relevant signs to reach their destinations.

Ashghal has asked all motorists heading towards local roads and Dukhan to make use of the existing Al Gharrafa Street instead of the new tunnel.

Ashghal said it will install road signs advising motorists of the changes on the road.

The authority has further urged motorists to abide by the 50km speed limit and follow the road signs to ensure their safety as well as that of others on the road.
