The latest masterpiece to come out of the recent illegal blockade, “Tell Qatar”, has garnered much social media attention since its release on Tuesday.

Renowned singers from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), including Hussein el-Jasmy and Eada el-Manhali, launched their new ditty attacking Qatar’s leadership.

It blew up on Twitter, with plenty of good humoured, sarcastic reactions from Qatar's side.

"Tell Qatar" (inevitably) praises the Saudi leadership’s role in confronting Qatar’s policy. Saudi singers also launched a political song titled “Flag of Qatar” in September, which also got its fair share of mention in people’s responses.

The song is meant to deliver a warning to Qatar against its ‘hostile’ policy against Arab countries, calling on the government to stop supporting terrorism, an allegation that Qatar firmly denies.

In translation, the song says: “We told Qatar to avoid dangerous extremes, it has to put an end; no more excuse for its betrayal.”

It refers to HH the Emir, saying: “Hamad and his father are in vain as long as they seek Turkey’s protection.”
