Qatar is an ideal water sports destination as it is surrounded by the Arabian sea and has a warm and sunny climate all year round. Eid is a day for celebration and joy with your loved ones. This marks the end of Ramadan and signifies the return of a regular eating schedule.

Qatar celebrates Eid al-Fitr as a national holiday, with schools, government offices, and private businesses closed. Following Eid, Qatar extends its national holiday by three days (May 3-5) and the public sector has an additional two days off (May 6-7).

To celebrate Eid and the holidays we have put together a list of exciting water sport activities for families and singles alike.

Paddle Boats & Kayaks

Qatar Water Sport offers a unique water experience and can be found in Aspire Zone and Intercontinental Doha. Among the recreational activities available at Aspire Zone are paddle boats, kayaks, and walking balls, while Intercontinental Doha offers wakeboarding, jet ski rides, and kiteboarding.

There's also a unique experience to be found with their Walking Balls, which allows you to walk on water.

Prices

Kayak (20min) - 30QR

Bumpy Boat (10min) - 30QR

Water Roller (25min) - 25QR

RC Boat (10min) - 35QR

Scuba Diving

Those interested in diving can explore intriguing marine life at Qatar Water Sport (550QR) and Poseidon Dive Center (360QR). There are scuba diving courses available for those wanting to learn and discover the distinctive species of marine life and abundant diversity of the vivid coral reefs under the sea.

Dhow Boat Sailing

Katara is among the most scenic natural beaches in Qatar and offers a great range of options for beach-goers to enjoy a relaxed beach experience as well as adrenaline-pumping activities. It costs 60QR for a 30-minute boat ride and can accommodate a whole family.

Wing Surfing

At Blue Pearl Experience in Fuwayrit, water sports enthusiasts can try out Wing Surfing, a unique mix of kiteboarding, windsurfing, surfing, and paddleboarding. With the use of a Handheld Wing in conjunction with a specially designed Stand Up Paddleboard, you can take on the challenge of propelling yourself over the water using the power of wind. It costs 750QR for 120 minutes of surfing.

Wake Surf

Sora Marine Training offers Wake Surfing, which is a popular activity in Doha involving trailing behind a boat and riding its wake without actually being pulled by it. In a similar fashion to surfing, the wakesurfers will climb to the top of the wave, usually using a tow rope. After dropping the rope, they proceed to ride the steep face below the wave's peak.

Prices

Friday and Saturday: 200QR per tow (with instruction); Monday-Thursday: 500QR per hour (without instruction)
