Apple Announces a New Way to Upgrade. Qatar Has Already Been Doing It

A new chapter in device ownership has begun. With Apple introducing a subscription-based upgrade experience in the U.S., the technology industry’s future is moving toward a more flexible way of accessing the devices people love. But in Qatar, this future is already here.

Through Revio Upgrade, Qatar consumers can experience a new era of smartphone access, enjoying premium devices, flexible monthly payments, and easier upgrades without the burden of high upfront costs.

Building on the subscription-based smartphone experience introduced by Revio in 2025, Revio Upgrade brings together a complete ecosystem of smarter technology solutions, giving customers greater flexibility, easier upgrades, and a more sustainable way to experience their devices.

Getting started with Revio Upgrade is simple:

1. Choose your device

Customers can browse available smartphones, select their preferred model, storage, and colour.

2. Subscribe with no upfront cost

Instead of paying the full price of a smartphone upfront, customers pay a fixed monthly subscription fee through a secure payment process.

3. Receive your device and start using it

Customers receive their selected device ready to use, with warranty and insurance coverage included throughout the 24-month subscription period.

4. Upgrade when your needs change

After completing the initial 6-month period, customers can change their device, including upgrading, downgrading, or switching storage or colour options when subject to availability.

5. Choose what happens next

At the end of the subscription period, customers can return the device, renew their subscription with a lower monthly rate, or purchase the device.

A Smarter and More Sustainable Way to Upgrade

Beyond convenience and affordability, Revio Upgrade supports a more sustainable approach to technology by encouraging customers to extend the life cycle of devices and reduce electronic waste.

This mission aligns with Qatar’s growing focus on sustainability, innovation, and responsible consumption as part of its 2030 National Vision. By promoting device reuse, trade-ins, and smarter upgrades, Revio contributes to building a more circular technology ecosystem in Qatar.

Qatar’s New Era of Device Access

Currently available exclusively to members of the Jood Privilege Program, Revio Upgrade gives early users the opportunity to experience a smarter way to upgrade their smartphones. Following this initial launch, Revio will soon become available to the wider Qatar market and expand the devices available for subscription, such as laptops and gaming devices.

“Technology is evolving faster than ever, and the way people access their devices should keep up with it,” said Muhammad Hamza Sohail, Head of Growth & Technologies at Revio. “With Revio Upgrade, we built the experience we always wished existed: the latest tech, on your terms, whenever you’re ready for it.”
