Qatar ranks first regionally in 2026 Resilient Food Systems Index

Qatar has ranked first regionally and 19th globally in the 2026 Resilient Food Systems Index (RFSI), with a score of 69.89 out of 100, reinforcing its position as a regional leader in building a stable and sustainable food security system.

Saudi Arabia ranked 24th globally with 68.40 points, while the UAE placed 26th with 68.16.

Issued by Economist Impact, the index measures how well countries can maintain affordable, safe, and reliable food systems during climate-related, economic, or geopolitical disruptions. It evaluates performance across affordability, availability, quality, and safety, and climate risk responsiveness.

Qatar ranked fourth globally in food affordability.

The ranking reflects progress under Qatar’s National Food Security Strategy 2030, supported by advanced logistics, effective monitoring systems, and high food safety standards.

The achievement also aligns with Qatar’s Third National Development Strategy, which promotes economic diversification, sustainable development, and long-term food security.
