In the event of non-compliance to the terms of contracts with employers and violations of the Ministry’s decisions that regulate recruitment offices, Ministry of Labour in Qatar declared the shutdown of 24 manpower supplying companies.

With the aim of protecting and preserving the rights of the workers in Qatar, the Ministry announced that it will continue to carry out inspection campaigns on recruitment agencies in order to monitor their compliance with the labor law and related decisions.

Terms such as implementation of new models of employment contracts for domestic workers that is in compliance with the decided extent of warranty is inspected during the inspection tours that the Ministry holds. Making sure that recruitment prices are adhered to according to the decision to set the maximum prices for the recruitment of domestic workers is also inspected strictly.

According to the closure decision, a closed office may not indulge in labor recruitment activity or conclude contracts with employers.

The Ministry of Labor has kept a direct means of communication to receive grievances from the public, including the hotline at 40288101, or the e-mail info@mol.gov.qa.

The ministry has also announced that all citizens and residents may report any abuses or violations done by the recruitment offices of domestic workers with regards to the implementation of the decision to extend the guarantee or the decision to limit prices.

In view of this, the Ministry of Labor affirmed that it will strictly intensify its inspection campaigns to keep a check on such recruitment offices to maintain the labor law in the country. It will confront firmly any office who fails to adhere to the rules prescribed in law and will take legal action against any of the companies to violates the labor law.
