The DPS-Modern Indian School is one of the popular Indian schools in the country. Demand to get seats in the school has been high in recent times.

In a bid to expand its services, DPS-MIS management has entered into an agreement with construction contractors Al Muftah Group to build its second campus in Al Wukair, according to Gulf Times.

A special ceremony, to mark the occasion, was held recently. It was attended by the school’s partners and promoters, as well as the school’s patron Aisha bint Mohamed bin Hammam Al Abdulla and Al Muftah Group managing director Ibrahim Al Muftah.

DPS-MIS, which started in Al Thumama in 2001, moved to its campus in Al Wakrah in 2012.

“Since the school has been running to full capacity, owing to growing demand for seats there, we realised the need for another campus and applied for permission to build the new complex in Al Wukair,” said School president Hassan Chougule.

The new 22,000SqM building will look similar to the existing campus of DPS-MIS in Al Wakrah and has a full-size athletics track and multi-purpose hall besides facilities to park no less than 200 buses.

In all, the building and the land area would constitute about 32,000SqM. Doha Bank is the financing partner and Qatar Design Consortium the building architect.

The contractors are expected to deliver the new building and its associated services within 15 months from the date of signing the agreement.
