To curb the spread of the coronavirus, Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), in collaboration with Hamad Medical Corporation, Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and other partners, had proactively designated four of its health centers to be Test & Hold facilities for all suspect cases of COVID-19 during March.
With Qatar now entering the recovery phase, PHCC has proceeded to phase out and resume normal services to provide complete healthcare services to the patients registered at its health centers.
Among the four dedicated health centers, the Muaither and Al Gharrafa health centers will no longer be a COVID-19 dedicated swab facility. However, Rawdat Al Khail and Umm Slal health Centers will continue providing their services as dedicated COVID-19 test & hold facilities.
According to Dr. Samya Abdulla, Executive Director of Operations, “The Covid-19 pandemic created a multitude of acute challenges for health care delivery, including the need for care redesign and the requirement to abandon conventional practices. Whether it was the proactive setup of dedicated COVID-19 test and hold health centers or innovation and advancement of digital services in the form of virtual consulting, home delivery of medicine, & e-services.
“Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has worked round-the-clock, tirelessly supporting the community and patients during these challenging times. Now, we are phasing into full operations mode to provide complete services for the people,” he added.
The Al Gharaffa Health Center will be deactivated as a COVID-19 dedicated swab facility from December 13, 2020. Similarly, the Muaither Health Center will also be deactivated as a COVID-19 dedicated swab facility from December 20, 2020.
PHCC encourages everyone registered at these two facilities to return to care and avail of full healthcare services available.
