Qatari and expatriate artists from different backgrounds are expressing their love and appreciation for Qatar and HH The Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani through artworks as part of a three-day event at Gulf Mall.

The event has attracted a lot of attention, especially as the artists are creatively producing their take on current times and show everyone is coming together behind HH The Emir, reported Gulf Times.

Poet and artist Radi Al Hajri said the event aimed to express “joy through an actual interpretation of belonging to the homeland and love for HH The Emir.”

He added that the event was started through the personal initiative of artists and backed by government entities, including the Ministry of Culture and Sports, which decided to set up a gallery for the nearly 20 artworks. Qatar Tourism Authority also supported the event, reported The peninsula.

Fine artist Mariam Al Mulla said her artwork, which is part of the gallery, expresses the Qatari people's love for their country, adding that the use of pure gold leaves is indicative of the sacrifices that Qataris are willing to make for the homeland and His Highness the Emir.

Meanwhile, artist Sheikha al-Kuwari painted a drawing for HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser and said it was an expression of her love, adding that it features a dove to show the peace she has in her heart for the world as a gift from a Qatari artist.

A Thai artist participated with a painting on Doha skyscrapers with cars bearing slogans supporting His Highness the Emir. He said he wanted to show Doha's beauty, especially the Al Dafna area.

An Indian artist drew a colour painting for His Highness the Emir, saying it is an expression of his love for Qatar. A fellow Indian artist said she participated with an artwork about a Qatari knight carrying the flag as if he is ‘conquering difficulties to reach the path of glory.’

Ever since the illegal blockade on Qatar by GCC countries started, people at home have been coming up with creative ways to show their support to HH The Emir.

Support for Qatar has also been pouring in from different parts of the world.
