Al Wakrah was once a charming fishing community and has since developed into one of Qatar's biggest towns. It has a peaceful atmosphere, thanks to its gorgeous beaches, old-fashioned markets, and welcoming gardens. Modern developments have helped the city grow.

Al Wakrah is a fantastic destination to visit due to its stunning natural setting and intriguing local culture. There is something for everyone, whether you wish to take in the local culture or marvel at the seaside environment.

Following are the key attractions within the city:

Al Janoub Stadium

Al Wakra, now the second-largest city in Qatar, is home to Al Janoub, one of the stadiums for the 2022 World Cup. Despite having a long history, this city has its eyes on the future of football. The FIFA World Cup 2022™  will be played out in some of the most unusual venues ever constructed for football, with Al Janoub Stadium clearly fitting into that category. The stadium can accommodate a whopping 40,000 people. The eye-catching architecture of the stadium pays homage to Al Wakrah's history as a fishing and pearl-diving port by evoking the wind-filled sails of Qatar's ancient dhow boats.

England National Team Base Camp

The Tivoli hotel chain's Souq Al Wakra Hotel is one among the Heritage Village's historic structures. The England national team has stated that they would prefer to set up camp in this opulent seaside resort. The hotel is built in a classic setting with a blend of modern and contemporary Arabic influences that overlooks the Persian Gulf. The hotel offers more than 100 rooms, five restaurants, a spa and treatment rooms, a hydro pool, conference spaces, and lounges. It also provides access to the beach and the souq, which has a promenade of eateries, as well as beautiful courtyards studded with palm and fig trees and water features.

MDLBeast: Aravia Qatar

More than just football will be on display during the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, thanks to MDLBEAST, who will present Aravia, a sizable 28-day music festival in Doha during the competition. The festival includes both massive concerts and late-night celebrations honoring a variety of musical genres, from well-known DJs to hip-hop groups. Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Steve Aoki, Fatboy Slim, Hardwell, Rae Sremmurd, Tinie Tempah, and Tyga are a few of the well-known worldwide artists that are going to be featured during the music festival. Souq Al Wakrah

Due to its tranquil atmosphere, Souq Al Wakrah is a perfect destination to spend the day with loved ones. Due to the historical construction and layout of the squares, you will experience a more genuine souq experience. The coast's kid-friendly beaches are only a short drive away. There, you may purchase souvenirs, eat at a neighboring café, and stroll along the beach. The streets are also lined with little shops and restaurants beside the shore. The rustic setting of the market and the locals and visitors purchasing locally made goods makes you feel as though you've been transported back in time.

Al Wakrah Port

One of the many gorgeous places in Qatar that most embodies tranquility is Al Wakrah Port. Walking around the dock while enjoying the beautiful ocean feels so unreal. There has always been a fishing community at Al Wakrah. The fishing boats that are tied at the port and those that are searching the waters for fish to feed the community can both be seen from this location. Casting a net in Port Al-Wakrah is a popular hobby for many locals. You may always unwind by the water and eat a fresh catch. The port has 368 moorings, 188 boat stands, and 180 boat docks. Every amenity needed by fishermen and owners of cruise ships and boats is provided at the port, including parking places that can hold a variety of sized vessels. These feature floating docks with access to water, electricity, and lighting. These are in addition to maintenance facilities and navigational aids that adhere to the most modern global systems and standards. There are firefighting and CCTV camera systems, boat landing chutes, refueling stations, and administrative offices for the use of fishermen and other mariners.

Ezdan Mall

With a large selection of restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues for fun and relaxation, Ezdan Mall is a great place to fulfill all of your dining, shopping, and entertainment needs. Residents of the Al Wakra area enjoy congregating at the marvelous Ezdan Mall Al Wakra to shop, dine, and socialize. It brilliantly blends traditional Arabic architecture with modern architectural elements. The 75,684 sqm mall contains more than 160 retail locations.

Beaches in Al Wakrah

There are four beaches to explore in Al Wakrah, which are mentioned below:

Al Wakrah Family Beach

A fine, golden sand beach called Al Wakrah Family Beach is around 30 kilometers away from Doha. The beach is a little farther from the sea and grows softer and lighter as it goes closer. The beach has three playgrounds where kids may have fun while their parents relax on the beach in the sun and take in the stunning scenery around, making it a favorite vacation spot for locals and tourists alike, especially families. There are bathrooms and showers at Al Wakra Beach, among other services. Due to the shallowness of the beach, swimming is not advised; nevertheless, other sports like volleyball and soccer are accessible.

Al Wakrah Public Beach

Just behind the family beach lies the Al Wakrah Public Beach, which is currently walled. There are plenty of parking spaces and restrooms available. For a variety of causes, the beach has developed into one of Qatar's most popular beaches. With a laid-back environment and magnificent vistas, it's a great retreat from the city's noise and bustle. Come unwind while taking in a range of fun activities and the breathtaking beauty of nature.

Souq Al Wakrah Beach

Souq Al Wakrah Beach, which is next to the Al Wakra Souq, is open to everyone who enjoys nature and unspoilt landscape. The walkway that surrounds the souq is perfect for leisurely strolls while admiring the stunning scenery. It leads to Souq Al Wakra Beach, one of Qatar's most beautiful beaches.  This beach offers swimming as well as other beach activities owing to the relatively shallow water.

Dog Beach

The "Dog Beach" is located just in front of Al Wakrah Public Garden. The shallow water makes it the perfect spot for your animal friends to run. Depending on the tides, you might also be able to glimpse a sandbar. You can drive a sedan there, but take caution since the soft sand might trap you.
