The Central Municipal Council (CMC) has recommended the setting up of more commercial shops at public parks and neighbourhood playgrounds to serve visitors better, reported Gulf Times.
Some areas near parks and playgrounds have no neighbourhood markets, making it more difficult for visitors to have refreshments. The CMC has suggested that the Ministry of Municipality and Environment carry out a study regarding feasibility of such shops.
The proposal, if implemented, will go a long way in helping people living in the vicinity and other visitors to get easy access to essential requirements.
The shops to be set up under this plan should not be limited to cafeterias and eateries, the council said, adding that a study could be conducted on the type of commercial activity that is required the most.
