The General Directorate of Civil Defense communicated how early warning systems can help in responding quickly to fires, theft, and other dangers.
The early warning system is one of the most advanced systems in the field of safety procedures and contributes to the rapid detection of fire, thefts, and other dangers.
Especially in the case of high-risk facilities, the early warning system can substantially help in the process of response and control of such situations.
Captain Ahmed Khaled Al Ghanim, Director of the Prevention Department at the General Directorate of Civil Defense, said that some facilities, buildings, and institutions should be equipped with an early warning system to detect fires, thefts, and other accidents and is connected to the central operations room of the Ministry of Interior.
Advantages of an early warning system include highly accurate information about the type and location of an institution or company reporting a fire within seconds.
This information is automatically sent to the operations room at the Ministry of Interior first and then to the Civil defense.
Periodic maintenance is also carried out to ensure safety and the absence of system malfunctions, as well as the possibility of providing SMS and e-mail services to persons concerned with companies and institutions when the accident occurs to ensure the ability to communicate, Al Ghanim added.
According to Al Ghanim, the system can be used in companies, institutions, hotels, banks, shopping complexes, entertainment centers, hotel apartments, and other high-risk facilities.
Speaking on how the system works, the Director pointed out that when an emergency occurs, an automatic alarm is triggered in the operations room at the Ministry of Interior with details of the location of the accident and the ways and means that can be used to reach the scene on an electronic map.
As a result, this allows police cars or civil defense vehicles to be dispatched quickly and arrive at the scene rapidly.
The system also sends a text message to the person in charge of the building informing them of the presence of an alarm.
At the same time, the observer in the operations room can contact the building official through the same system and ask them to go to the scene of the accident to help police and civil defense personnel and provide the required information, he added.
