The Dar Al Salam Mall, which is located in the Al Mesaimeer Area, is all set to undergo an expansion phase.
As part of expansion plans, it is set to build nine cinemas as well as an entertainment zone on its rooftop. It is expected to give patrons a wide range of entertainment options, according to its Operation Manager Zahid Iqbal.
“We’re planning to bring a one-of-its-kind entertainment area spread over 18,000sqm, which will also include a beautiful garden,” Iqbal was quoted as saying by Gulf Times.
Around half portion of the huge leased area will be taken up by nine brand new cinema theatres while the other half will be used to build an entertainment zone for shoppers and mall-goers.
Dar Al Salam Mall was the first facility in the country to have a ‘green park’ on its rooftop, but it had to be shut down for a brief while and is now once again open for visitors.
The Mall is also working on doubling its parking spaces from the current 600 to 1,200 soon.
The Carrefour Supermarket currently functioning inside the mall will be upgraded to a hypermarket with the addition of a 2,500sqm electronic section. It is expected to be completed in a year’s time.
