In preparation for the FIFA World Cup 2022, Qatar Cabinet, aligning prominent ministries of Qatar, has decided upon various decisions to be implemented during the World Cup period. Here is a reminder of all the changes in different sectors from Tuesday, November 1, 2022.
Travel & Health
- All visitors to Qatar will no longer be required to submit a negative PCR or Rapid Antigen test result.
- Citizens and residents arriving in Qatar are exempted from the Rapid Antigen test procedure.
- Citizens, residents, and visitors are no longer obligated to show their Ehteraz mobile application except when entering health facilities.
- 70% of the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) consultations will be online, and moved to telephone and other E-services.
Work
Government sector offices (November 1 to December 19)
- 80 % of employees will work remotely and 20% will work in the workplaces.
- Working hours 7 am to 11 am.
- The military, security, health and educational sectors are excluded from these decisions.
Private sector/ International companies:
- Will continue with their regular schedule during the Qatar World Cup.
School
- Working hours for faculty and students: 7 am until 12 pm (November 1 to November 17)
- During the end-of-first-semester exam period (November 6 to November 17), students in public and private schools that apply national standards will be from 9am until 11am, according to a statement by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
- Mid-term school holidays will start from November 20 to December 22, 2022
Doha Corniche
- Corniche to be allocated for pedestrians.
- The Ministry of Interior has also issued a ban on the use of scooters,motorbikes and bicycles on the corniche road designated for pedestrians during the FIFA World Cup 2022.
Family & Friends accommodation for Qatar World Cup will be discontinued on Hayya Card app, according to the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy.
