As part of phase 4 of the gradual lifting of restrictions starting on September 1, Doha Festival City (DFC) is ready to welcome kids again of all ages and will re-open its North and South Food Courts with (30percent) limited capacity, whilst ensuring all safety guidelines are being implemented.
Children will also go through temperature checks at the entrance; children younger than twelve needs to be accompanied by their parents or guardian. To ensure their safety, children will also be advised to respect social distancing measures implemented by the Mall.
In order to protect children, DFC will have face masks available for children to wear at all times while in the Mall.
In good news for foodies, Doha Festival City’s North and South Food Courts will be open starting from 1 September, with the security team present to oversee the seating capacity ensuring it does not exceed 30% in accordance with the directives of authorities.
Recently, DFC broadened its mall offerings, with more store openings including Maia Chocolates, Papa John's, and Edge Fitness.

While all entertainment venues and play areas will remain closed for now, in line with the directives of the authorities, VOX Cinema will open with 15% capacity.
The dates for reopening will be confirmed soon. Vox has already prepared its safety protocol, that will include regular auditoriums’ disinfection with fogging machine, enhanced cleaning of all surfaces, mandatory face masks, gloves and temperature checks for the cinema’s employees, and other cleanliness procedures.
Vox will introduce a queue-less experience for tickets and F&B, encouraging visitors to book all the services online and providing contactless payment and self-scanning of tickets. Only adults (18+) will be allowed to the cinema at this stage.
Security control measures will also be deployed throughout DFC’s premises to ensure social distancing and maximum capacity limits are applied.
Visitors coming to the Mall can also now utilize the new parking area, which recently opened on August 16th in front of the Luxury Area. It can accommodate 165 cars, providing easy access to the Luxury Area and the newly launched full purpose gym, Edge Fitness at the Mall, with a direct exit to Al Shamal Road providing relief to heavy traffic periods during rush hours.
In line with the preventative measures set out by the authorities, Doha Festival City has introduced stringent health and safety measures throughout the mall for its staff and visitors. This includes a thorough mall disinfection treatment on a weekly basis, robust cleaning and sanitization operations during mall trading hours, 127 hand sanitizing stations installed in the areas that have commonly touched surfaces.
At the entrance to the mall and all shops, visitors must show their green Ehteraz QR code and should wear a face mask during their whole time in the mall.
Physical distancing stickers in common queuing areas, such as ATM machines, banks, telecommunication kiosks, and branches and various retail shops have been installed to help shoppers keep the required physical distance as set forth in the guidelines by the authorities.
Stores will provide sanitizers on entry and at cash points to ensure the highest level of hygiene.
