There is something unique in seeing films under the stars. Especially, if the films are to do with food and love, then the whole experience would be unforgettable.

This time, in celebration of the Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF), the Doha Film Institute (DFI)’s “Cinema under the stars” takes on a foodie twist with special screenings of two carefully selected animation movies that will leave you and your family both hungry and celebrating life.

“Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” and “Ponyo (Gake no ue no Ponyo)” are to be screened at Qanat Quartier, Beach Side Court, The Pearl-Qatar. The screenings are absolutely free and are on a first come, first served basis.

In “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs”, witness food raining from the sky when Flint Lockwood’s invention rockets up into the sky.

Meet Sōsuke, a good-natured youngster who loves playing by the sea in “Ponyo (Gake no ue no Ponyo). One day, he finds a beautiful fish trapped in a bottle. He frees the creature, names her Ponyo and takes her everywhere in his green bucket, promising to look after her forever.

The films will be screened on 23, 25 and 27 of March from 7:30PM onwards. Remember, entrance is free but you’d find a seat only if you’re early.
