If you felt the earth shake a little bit beneath your feet a few minutes ago, then it was not just a feeling, but an actual tremor.

But before you start panicking, know that it was the slight vibrations from a much bigger quake in Bushehr, Iran.

The National Seismic Information Network recorded an earthquake measuring 5.9 in Southern Iran at 9:34am, tremors of which was felt in some Gulf countries, reported The Peninsula

The information was tweeted by Qatar Meteorology Department in Arabic that roughly translated to ‘on Thursday, 19/04/2018, an earthquake measuring 5.6 in Southern Iran hit a depth of 10km; the effects of which was felt in some Gulf countries.’ 

The top floors of the commercial offices in the West Bay area felt the tremors with some of them being evacuated as a precautionary measure.

Qatar Meteorology Department also shared an updated from the Civil Aviation Department that clarified the tremors were felt in Iran adding that the high rises in Gulf states did feel the impact.

According to CATNews, the tremors were also felt in Bahrain.
