Discover Qatar, the destination management arm of Qatar Airways Group, will extend the Stopover programme in the coming months to attract more tourists from across the world.

"With an outstanding and comprehensive portfolio of hotels, excursions, transfers, and activities, Discover Qatar (DQ) has made notable strides in highlighting and promoting Qatar as a global tourist destination," according to the Qatar Airways Group Annual Report 2021-2022, which was published last month.

It stated that the firm welcomed its first passengers to Qatar from the MSC Virtuosa Cruise ship once more, and that it has since given tour services to over 10,000 people to Qatar. The following fiscal year will be focused on increasing the Stopover program and enabling transit excursions.

Discover Qatar, Qatar Airways Group's destination management arm, plans to expand the Stopover program in the coming months in order to attract more tourists from across the world.

The new scheme would allow travellers to participate in Discover Qatar trips as soon as transit permits are reopened.

"Discover Qatar intends to become the go-to brand synonymous with excellence in operational execution for Meetings, Incentives, Conference and Events (MICE), world-class athletic events, and educational tourism in one of the world's safest settings," it said.

According to another recent article, Qatar Tourism (QT) is also stepping up its efforts to attract more tourists to the nation by leveraging the Stopover campaign with Qatar Airways. This is one of six major tactics QT is focused on to increase tourism numbers in Qatar, which is expecting over 1.5 million tourists during the World Cup from November.

Last month, Qatar Tourism COO Berthold Trenkel stated that according to their statistics, Qatar has been a transit airport, with "people arriving, people leaving, no one getting off - so that's one thing for us to alter."

According to the study, DQ is committed to completely honoring Qatar's legacy and culture, as well as its stakeholders and the larger community, by offering goods and services with an uncompromising focus on quality. Discover Qatar provides its services to the rest of the world via business-to-business (B2B) retail and corporate ties, as well as in Qatar via the Discover Qatar website.

Discover Qatar plays a significant role in marketing Qatar, working closely with Qatar Airways and Qatar Tourism, and supports programs to welcome prominent tour operators and travel experts to experience the best of Qatar through unforgettable tours and thrilling excursions.

It was also revealed that DQ revised and relaunched its Ground Services programme during the fiscal year 2021/2022, now offering nearly 30 land and water-based tours and experiences, meet and assist services at HIA, and transfers, enabling a superior end-to-end service for all customers from arrival to departure.
