The first day of the new school year (2021-22) for students in Qatar will commence on August 29, according to the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE).
This follows the Ministerial Decision No 20 for 2021, regarding the annual school calendar for the 2021-22 academic year, issued by His Excellency the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali Al Hammadi yesterday.
Based on the decision, members of the school staff will return to school on August 16.

The second-round examinations for the 2020-21 academic year for grades 1-12 (both day and adult education) will be held between August 18 and 26.
August 29 will mark the first day of the new academic year.
The mid-year school break is scheduled for December 19-30 with the second semester beginning on January 2, 2022.
Another short break is to run from March 13-17,2022. Classes will resume from March 20.
August 16, 2022, will mark the beginning of the next academic year (2022-23) for students while teachers will resume work from August 14, 2022.
