Qatar ranked second globally in the labour market indicator under the business efficiency pillar of the IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook 2026.
The GCC Statistical Center said the achievement reflects the efficiency and attractiveness of Qatar’s labour market, as well as its ability to attract skilled professionals.
The Center highlighted several leading positions achieved by GCC countries across the report’s key competitiveness indicators.
The United Arab Emirates ranked first globally in the international trade indicator and also secured the top position in the overall economic performance pillar, reflecting the openness and competitiveness of its economy.
Oman ranked sixth globally in tax policy under the government efficiency pillar, while Bahrain placed third in price stability under economic performance.
Saudi Arabia ranked third globally in infrastructure, reflecting continued development across its infrastructure projects and their role in supporting economic growth.
Kuwait also secured third place globally in public finance under the government efficiency pillar, demonstrating the strength of its financial position and the effective management of public resources.
The GCC Statistical Center said the results highlight the advanced position of Gulf countries in international competitiveness rankings and reflect the impact of economic policies and structural reforms aimed at improving business environments and supporting sustainable development.
The World Competitiveness Yearbook is issued annually by the Switzerland-based International Institute for Management Development.
It assesses participating economies across four main pillars: economic performance, government efficiency, business efficiency and infrastructure.
