As Qatar moves ahead with the implementation of Phase 2 of the gradual lifting of COVID-19 restrictions, the Government Communications Office (GCO) has confirmed that the entry and exit points, set up around the Industrial Area earlier in March, will be canceled from today.
The Permanent Committee for Industrial Area Affairs has decided to cancel the entry and exit points to and from the Industrial Area from July 1, the GCO said.

However, all the necessary preventive measures such as the wearing of masks, reduced bus capacity to half, and the downloading and activation of the Ehteraz application will continue, the statement adds. This is to ensure the health and safety of everyone in the area including residents, visitors, and community members.
"It must be emphasized that the easing of restrictions does not mean the virus has disappeared," the GCO cautions, adding that all members of society must continue to adhere to the recommended guidelines to ensure the success of the State's plan for the gradual easing of restrictions.
Earlier, on June 15, the GCO had announced the State's decision to remove the requirement for entry and exit permits to and from the Industrial Area that went into effect on June 15.
While several activities are being resumed under Phase 2, the public is reminded to follow all recommended guidelines and continue practicing precautionary measures to ensure the safety of all.
For any queries, or concerns related to COVID-19 in Qatar, the public can contact a 24/7 hotline set up by the Ministry. The hotline number is 16000 and is toll-free.
