Through braiding, adornment and ritual, the exhibition explores how hair carries stories of memory, beauty, resistance, and identity, especially within matrilineal Amazigh cultures. What was once objectified and exoticised through colonial and ethnographic lenses is here reclaimed as a vibrant language of self-expression, sovereignty, and cultural pride. Contemporary artists reimagine inherited forms to reflect the strength, creativity, and dignity embedded in these traditions. Moving from archival material to present-day practice, the exhibition affirms hair as a medium of continuity and transformation. Ultimately, Amazigh Hair Couture offers a compelling statement on the politics of care, representation, and the artistic legacies passed from one generation to the next.

By blending traditional folk music with contemporary theatrical elements, Abel creates an immersive experience that not only showcases the beauty of Indian folk music but also reinterprets it for a modern audience. The performance is a testament to Abel's creative vision, which has captivated audiences globally, making "The Manganiyar Selection" a standout in the International festival circuit. It has been staged in over 25 countries and performed in extremely prestigious venues, like the Lincoln Centre in New York, Kennedy centre in Washington DC, The Barbican in London to name a few.
