The weekend is Qatar is a respite from a week of tasks, work and school and the events lined up are meant to give you a much-needed break.

The diversity of events this weekend in Qatar is certain to keep you entertained with the entire family. Whether it is diving into a world of coffee at the upcoming coffee exhibition; engaging in a beach cleanup; enjoying a musical concert, attending exciting events for kids, or even testing your endurance with fitness activities—the weekend packs a punch with several events.

Here are some of the events happening in Qatar this weekend from September 14 – 16, 2023.

Doha International Coffee Exhibition

Dive straight into the world of coffee with the very first edition of the Doha International Coffee Exhibition. Welcome to all coffee connoisseurs, industry professionals, suppliers, and the public, this is an event sure to excite you. Not only do you get to participate in different coffee workshops but also learn about the coffee culture, and its different innovations and watch the Qatar National Coffee Championships here.

Geekend

Geeks are all set for a unique edition of Geekend where they can participate in an enticing cosplay competition and also witness the back2back tournament. Head over with your friends and enjoy this ‘geek’end at the event! Make sure to register prior to your visit.

PSA World Tour

The PSA World Tour is the perfect chance to watch your favorite squash players in action. Watch both the men’s and women’s draws of the Doha leg of the PSA World Tour as it ends this weekend.

Beach Cleanup

Join DEAP (Doha Environmental Action Project) along with the Embassy of Belgium in Qatar in a family-friendly beach cleanup at Al Zubarah. The cleanup commemorates World Cleanup Day and is a great way to instill sustainability awareness in the family. Interested people can drop a message to @deapqatar on Instagram and register.

TriClub Doha: Season Launch Party

If you are intent on participating in a triathlon in Qatar, consider joining the TriClub Doha. This is an exciting event organized by Doha’s premier triathlon club and provides an excellent opportunity for triathlon athletes to connect and also bring themselves up-to-date with the 2023-24 schedule of events and competitions happening around the year.

Kids Shimmer & Sparkle event

KiddyZone at Landmark Mall is hosting an exciting and fun event for kids including rock painting, glitter nail art, kinetic sand playtime, and others. Take your kids and head there for a creatively satisfying weekend activity to keep the kids engaged.

Meet and greet Chuck E.

Chuck E. Cheese’s adorable, funny mascot Chuck E. is all set to meet and greet kids at the Alif Stores in Al Dafna. Join the cute mascot as he keeps the kid entertained with some fun-filled sing-along songs, arts & craft activities and more.

F1 Grand Prix Roadshow

Hosted by Lusail Circuit in anticipation of the upcoming Formula One® Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix 2023, the F1 Roundup is a family-friendly event that features an F1 stimulator, photo booths, VR games, racing games, and more. The roadshow will take place at Doha Festival City this week before moving to another location next week.

Gulf Cricket Championship T20I Qatar

Cricket fans are in for a treat with an opportunity to view some electrifying clashes between some of GCC’s cricketing teams. Brace yourself for some exciting matches between Qatar, KSA, UAE, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain—all replete with family-friendly entertainment. Kids below 5 years are allowed free entry.

QRS Summer Sizzler

QRS Summer Sizzler is a great way to challenge yourself and stay ahead of the race, literally. The challenge includes a series of timed races ranging from 5 – 20 minutes athletes can run unlimited loops within the specified time range. Professional, amateur and even junior runners can participate and enjoy the thrill of racing—all within the air-conditioned parks of Al Gharaffa and Umm Seneem.

Categories include mini kids (ages 3-6), juniors (ages 7-16), Open (ages 17-39), and Masters (ages 40+). 

Dates: September 8 – 29, 2023

Bizet’s Carmen

Delight in the symphonies of French composer Bizet’s famous opera, Carmen, played by the talented Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra at this musical event. The concert includes the performance of the Symphony No. 9 in C Major and leads up to the final grand scale orchestra by Austrian composer Schubert. German conductor Elias Grandy will lead the Philharmonic for this event.
