From July 12, an exceptional entry permit will not be necessary for residents and tourists with work visas as part of the progressive lifting of COVID-19 restrictions, according to a senior official.
According to the new travel policy issued by Qatar yesterday, vaccinated people from all countries will be exempted from quarantine, taking effect from July 12, 2021.
Major Abdullah Al Jasmi, Head of the Administrative Affairs Section at the Airport Passports Department, stated once residents have met the condition for entering the country, requiring travelers to have a valid residence permit and staying out of Qatar for less than six months, they would then be allowed to enter the country without an exceptional entry permit.
Furthermore, he stated that if citizens have been out of Qatar for more than six months or their residency permit has expired due to unforeseen circumstances, they can return to the state by applying through Hukoomi (Qatar e-government portal) or Metrash2 and paying the expenses.
Moreover, unvaccinated children between 0-17 years old are exempted from hotel quarantine.
