Ooredoo, having a crucial regional role in national sports sponsorship, has begun plans for the Doha Marathon 2022.
The major innovations include modifications to the route, absorbing the ever-growing iconic landscapes in Doha, and offering amazing prizes for participants. The virtual event gives runners back at home the opportunity to participate from 5-11 March 2022. A new category of “Aladaam” has been launched exclusively for Qatar winners.
Ooredoo touched on the advantages of the new location and how it adds to the already popular marathon event returning next month. Aladaam is expected to increase Qatari participation during the long run of the marathon event and sports in general.
Ooredoo also stated that the sponsoring of the Doha Marathon assists in reaching Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals, by supporting and encouraging the local population to participate in sports and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
The funds raised by the Ooredoo Doha Marathon will always go to charitable causes. This year’s recipient is Qatar Foundation’s Ability Friendly Program.
Sabah Rabiah Al-Kuwari – Director PR at Ooredoo – said: “We’re delighted that the Ooredoo Doha Marathon 2022 is going ahead, as we’re rightfully proud of our firm strategic commitment to promoting a healthy, active lifestyle and to supporting events in the communities in which we operate. Safety remains a priority for us and any remaining COVID-19 restrictions will be enforced at the event. Numbers of both participants and spectators will be strictly limited.”
