Fahes has announced several measures to reduce traffic at its centers, one of which includes the introduction of an appointment system for vehicle inspection.

With the aim of reducing traffic in mind, Fahes has also announced that it will reopen the Industrial Area technical inspection center during the month of June.

According to Sheikh Hamad bin Saud Al Thani, Manager of Fahes, “The Industrial Area technical inspection center will reopen next month, June, reducing crowd at other centers, especially those operating in the surrounding areas like Mesaimeer and Wadi Al Benat centers.”

Speaking in a Qatar TV program yesterday, Sheikh Hamad said the Industrial Area technical inspection center was closed for renovation after the start of the Al Mazrouah technical inspection center.

“We have planned to introduce an appointment system for motorists soon, enabling them to get their vehicles inspected at a specific location and time,” said Sheikh Hamad.

He said crowding was observed at centers from 8 am to 1 pm and from 4 pm to 6 pm. He said the appointment system will evenly distribute the caseload across the working time of 12 hours instead of concentrating it on 5 to 6 hours a day.

“The appointment system will also help increase the productivity of centers, enabling them to work throughout the working time,” said Sheikh Hamad. He said Fahes technical inspection centers have been designed in a way to finish the vehicle inspection process within half an hour from registration of the vehicles to leaving the facility.

In coordination with the Traffic Department, Fahes has already made some changes in the operation of the inspection center located in Al Mazrouh which has helped in reducing the crowd at the facility.
