Hospitality Qatar, the annual global hospitality and HORECA trade show has kicked off with its fifth edition at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC).

Under the patronage of His Excellency Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Minister of Commerce and Industry, the prestigious event brings visitors from the region and around the world to see developments and opportunities in Qatar’s hospitality and tourism sector, particularly as the country gears up for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Organized by IFP Qatar, the event is being held in partnership with Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) for the second consecutive year.

This edition of Hospitality Qatar has seen as many as 228 exhibitors and seven international pavilions from 33 participating countries.

The participants represent various aspects of the hospitality industry such as hotels and facilities, interiors and design, entertainment and leisure, travel and tourism, resorts and outdoor landscape, HORECA technologies and equipment, ecologically friendly hotel systems and solutions, and food and beverages.

The three-day exhibition will open daily until November 14, 2019, from 1 pm to 9 pm.

The event comprises an exhibition, a CPD-certified conference, certified training sessions, specialized live competitions, and B2B matchmaking programs.

It has been designed to provide top hospitality stakeholders including hoteliers, restauranteurs, café operators and tourism experts with a bigger and wider platform to unlock business opportunities in Qatar’s competitive and ever-growing tourism and hospitality sector.

The event also lets experienced hospitality professionals align their capabilities with the available opportunities and prospects in the country.

General Manager of IFP Qatar, the organizer of Hospitality Qatar, Haidar Mshaimesh, said, “We are excited to open this year’s edition of Hospitality Qatar and welcome the exhibitors and visitors over the next three days as we expand our halls to accommodate several new additions to the show.”

“We are looking forward to welcome exhibitors and visitors from the local, regional and international hospitality markets and explore the country’s offerings and opportunities for business,” he added.

Apart from increasing its space to 100 percent from the previous year, organizers have introduced several new initiatives for this edition, including dedicated exhibition zones. The “Destination Pavillion” zone is sponsored by Qatar Airways and the “Luxury Tourism” zone will be run in association with Luxury Trade & Marketing Group (LT&MG).

Moreover, the event offers for the first time a free of charge Certified Training Program for hospitality professionals to promote leading best practices among industry practitioners.

Participants have a chance to learn more about customer service themed ‘Managing People in Big Events’, time management titled ‘Get Organized for Peak Performance, and food safety and food hygiene focused on ‘Making it a Habit’, and ‘Delivering Unique Experiences in the World of Sports and Entertainment.’

The Hospitality Qatar Conference, a CPD-certified conference, returns this year for the second edition, with a fresh outlook on major new developments in the industry and offer insightful knowledge of the sector, new strategies and innovations.

Some of the themes include ‘An Overview of Qatar’s Future Tourism Sector Developments’, ‘Showcasing Qatari Market Opportunities in the Hospitality Sector’, and ‘Hospitality Requirements Towards FIFA World Cup 2022.’

The fifth edition of Hospitality Qatar will witness as well the event’s signature events, the Salon Culinaire, organized in partnership with Qatar Culinary Professionals (QCP) and supported by the World Association of Chefs Societies for Africa and the Middle East.

Live cooking competitions will once again entice the palates and aesthetic taste of food connoisseurs with mouthwatering signature dishes.

The Qatar Barista Championship, sponsored by Corona, is set to present the country’s finest baristas with their creative versions of classic and elaborate coffee beverages.
