The first day of Eid Al-Fitr in Qatar will be on Sunday, May 24, 2020, the Crescent Sighting Committee at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) has confirmed.
The Committee, which was headed by its chairman Sheikh Dr Thaqil Al Shammari, met immediately after sunset (Maghreb) prayer at the Committee's headquarters in the Ministry of Endowment and Islamic Affairs' building in Al Dafna.
According to Awqaf, tomorrow, May 23, 2020 will be the last day of Ramadan.

Earlier, Awqaf confirmed that the decision regarding closure of mosques and the temporary suspension of congregational prayers as part of the precautionary and preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19 will continue. The decision remains in effect and applies to Eid Al-Fitr for the year 1441 AH.
All those who mark the blessed occasion of Eid are encouraged to pray at home. Eid prayers are usually performed 15 minutes after sunrise.
