Bringing in yet another innovative model to Qatar’s education scene, Qatar Foundation (QF) has announced the opening of a progressive school embedded within Education City for children as young as three up to the ages of six.

Named as “Academyati,” the school falls under the umbrella of QF’s Pre-University Education (PUE) and is all set to offer an unparalleled, enriching educational experience to young children in Qatar.

The school takes the concept of personalized education and presents it in a unique light such that the educational focus is shared between personal and academic development.

According to QF the school is currently open for admissions for the 2019-2020 academic year and sessions will commence this August, reported Qatar Tribune

Academyati features a specifically tailored program that will nurture children enrolled in the program to realize their skills that would help them become the leaders of tomorrow.

President of Pre-University Education (PUE) Buthaina Ali alNuaimi said the school will “bring a whole new educational experience to Qatar.”

“A bilingual school offering individualized education, with an emphasis on experiential learning within an innovative educational ecosystem that will work in close partnership with parents and families, Academyati will graduate students who are aware, confident, empowered, and can bring positive change to their world,” she added.

The school is centered on a holisitic-learning model that is carefully delivered keeping in view each child’s unique and specific needs, interests, and strengths. Academyati will have a fully developed personal place for each child to facilitate the young learner’s personal growth and creative thinking process in a stimulating environment, as reported by Gulf Times

Director of Academyati Maryam Alhajri said: “Academyati stands for Innovation in Learning. We believe in trusting today’s children. By exposing our children to experiences and quests as a way of learning, we aim to fuel children’s independence, empathy, curiosity, and creativity through their journey in Academyati. We have faith that their inner gifts will shape amazing outcomes.”

Children at the school will be grouped in multi-age groups, a non-typical approach to enable each child to grasp knowledge and skills at their own pace from older and younger class fellows around them and in a more conducive setting.

Instead of a conservative style of subject-based teaching, the Academyati will provide children with experiences and quests, open-ended, problem-solving activities focused on real-world problems that inspire them to explore, innovate, and find solutions to problems, and that have real-world relevance and enduring value to their lives, according to The Peninsula.

Parents and families whose children enroll at the school will play an active role in their child’s learning process as the school intends to be actively connected with them to know more about the child’s interests and skills.
