The festival offers a wide variety of fresh dates at reasonable costs, with pricing starting at QAR 7 and QAR 8 per kilogram. Khalas, Al Shishi, and Al Khanizi are among them.

Date harvesting advice have been offered by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.

The Ministry explained that “dates must be immediately stored after harvest under cold temperature to avoid it going bad. Direct sun light affects the outer exocarp”.

It further stated that harvesting dates is best done early in the morning or late in the evening when temperatures are cool.It also said that the optimal time to harvest dates is early morning or the evenings when temperatures are low.

When soft fruits are exposed to high temperatures, they quickly spoil. According to the Ministry, dates are collected when they are ripe, as indicated by the edges of the fruit which should be mushy and dark-colored.
