The skydiving team from Qatar Air Sports Committee of the Joint Special Forces is off to a good start at the 2021 FAI World Parachuting Championships.
The championship, which sees the participation of 30 countries, went underway in Russia yesterday.
On the first day of the Skydiving events, the Formation Skydiving (4-way and 8-way), the Qatari team secured the third place.
In the event of Formation Skydiving (4-way), Team Qatar scored 141 points to clinch the third spot, behind the US team, which got the second place with 147 points. The Belgium team claimed the first position with 169 points.

In the Formation Skydiving (8-Way), the Qatari team got third place with 34 points. The French and the US teams shared first place with 43 points, while the Russian team secured second place with 39 points.
The competitions will also continue today to determine the winner.
Meanwhile, the Goal Team will start its competitions in the world championship today with hopes to win the title after its achievements in the previous international participations in which the team won several titles and medals.
The team prepared for the championship in a training camp in Slovenia for two months.
Four teams from Qatar are competing in the tournament, which runs until August 21, 2021.
The Qatari parachute squad is one of the greatest in the world and the world's largest nighttime parachute formation team.
The team has put on excellent air show formations and is predicted to do well at the 2021 World Parachuting Championships.
This competition takes place before the CISM World Military Parachuting Championship (WMPC), which will be held in Doha from November 15 to 30.
