The Hamad International Airport (HIA) is one of the world’s most beautiful airports and it has won a lot of awards in the past to prove it beyond doubt.

Now, the prestigious HIA is in the running for the being awarded the ‘World’s Best Airport 2019’ awards by Skytrax, reported Gulf Times.

The Skytrax World Airport Awards is the most prestigious accolade for the airport industry and is voted by customers in the largest annual global airport customer satisfaction survey.

Earlier this year, HIA had been ranked as the fifth Best Airport in the World during the 2018 awards.

The HIA, which has been described as the most architecturally significant terminal complex in the world, is known for its innovative facilities, five-star customer service and state-of-the-art terminal that can accommodate more than 30m passengers a year.

Skytrax also recognises HIA’s best-in-class service, presenting it with the Five Star airport status, making it the only airport in the Middle East to have this classification.

HIA won the ‘Best Airport in the Middle East’ title for four years in a row and ‘Best Staff Service in the Middle East’ for three years in a row.

“We’re proud of HIA’s status among the best airports in the world, and we’ll continue to deliver on our exceptional customer service and operational excellence, keeping the passenger at the heart of everything we do,” Engr. Badr Mohammed Al Meer, HIA’s Chief Operating Officer, was quoted as saying by  The Peninsula.

 

How to vote

You can do your bit to help HIA win the prestigious award by voting for it. If you have been through the HIA, all you need to do is head to the official website and vote for HIA based on categories including Terminal Comfort, Food and Beverage, Airport Shopping and Customer Assistance.
