As it rains once in a blue moon in these desert plains, many of us aren’t used to driving in wet, slippery and rainy conditions.

Hence, here are some tips that we think could help you to drive safely in today’s rain.

1- Don’t speed up. Drive slowly and with caution.

2- Keep both your hands on the steering wheel. Driving in the pouring rain is not the time for any distractions. Try to stay as focused as you can.

3- Keep both your headlights on, especially towards the evening. This will help you to see what is in front of you clearly, and thereby preventing any accidents.

4- Keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you.

5- Skidding sometimes cannot be avoided even by careful drivers during raing days. Hence, the trick is not to panic. If the driver feels the vehicle beginning to skid, he should-

• Continue to look and steer in the direction in which he wants the car to go.
• Avoid slamming on the brakes as this will further upset the vehicle’s balance and make it harder to control

6- Enjoy the rain while it lasts and keep the seat belts buckled!
