HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and HRH Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud chaired the sixth meeting of the Qatari-Saudi Joint Coordination Council, at the Amiri Diwan yesterday.

At the start of the session, HH the Amir welcomed Prince Mohammed bin Salman to Qatar, expressing his delight with this important visit to further strengthen the historic tie between the two nations.

HH the Amir stressed that the visit will bolster ties, particularly in light of the current regional circumstances, and wished continued success and progress for the two brotherly countries and their peoples.

HRH the Saudi Crown Prince thanked HH the Amir and Qatar for the warm welcome and expressed his happiness to be in Doha as well as to work with the Qatari working group.

He hopes that the sixth meeting would achieve a qualitative leap in bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields.

He highlighted the many bilateral opportunities available between the two countries and said the Qatar-Saudi cooperation would contribute to the overall wellbeing of their peoples as well as benefit the region.

The meeting between the two sides looked into the strong brotherly bilateral relations and explored ways to develop them in different fields, especially in the political, security, economic, investment fields, as well as other areas.

Several regional and international issues of mutual interest were also discussed, particularly the latest developments in the region, in addition to exchanging views on factors contributing to regional stability and security.

HH the Amir and HRH the Saudi Crown Prince later signed the minutes of the sixth meeting of the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council.

HH the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, HH the Personal Representative of HH the Amir Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, and a number of Their Excellencies Sheikhs and ministers, also attended the session.

The meeting also saw the participation of Their Royal Highnesses and Their Excellencies Princes and ministers from the Saudi side as well as members of the official delegation accompanying HH the Crown Prince.
