A day after US president Donald Trump invited him to visit the USA in April for bilateral talks, HH The Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has welcomed the move.

HH The Emir held a telephonic conversation with the US president, where the two leaders reviewed strategic relations between the nations and means of consolidating them to serve the common interests of the two countries, reported The Peninsula.

HH the Emir and the US President were keen to enhance cooperation between the two countries in different areas, especially in combating terrorism and eliminating its causes and sources of funding.

The two leaders also exchanged views on the latest developments on the regional and international arenas.
