Al Najjar, who represented Al Sadd Club, had a very bright future ahead of him, said ITTF in a press release on its website.
“This was a young man looking to build a successful career in sport and someone very well respected by everyone who came into contact with him, both as a player and as a person,” the ITTF story stated.
“The ITTF sends its deepest condolences to the family of Abdulrahman Al Najjar, to the whole Qatar Table Tennis Association and to Khalil Al-Mohannadi, President of the Qatar and Arab Table Tennis Federations and Deputy ITTF President,” the story further mentioned.
Al Najjar’s peers and colleagues at the QTTA remember him as a very polite and well-mannered man.
QTTA President Al Mohannadi said in a statement that the table tennis family and sports fraternity would have a difficult time to bear the loss of the ‘most promising player in Qatar’.
As condolences poured in for the young and ambitious player, the Aspire Academy also said on its facebook and Twitter accounts that it mourned the passing away of its graduate and Qatar NT table tennis player.
Al Najjar who was in his second year of a Sport Management degree at Qatar University was registered to play at the upcoming Liebherr 2019 ITTF World Table Tennis Championships in Budapest between April 21-28, the ITTF report said.
Deeply saddened by his tragic passing, the whole ITTF family has vowed to honor Najjar’s memory in Budapest and beyond.
