The Tarsheed 22 (T22) Project is a new collaboration between Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation KAHRAMAA to drive energy conservation awareness.

T22 will be launched in 22 primary schools in the communities near World Cup stadium construction sites this school year with the aim to engage children in primary school and educate them.

The project will entail three main phases: an initial energy audit and upgrades at each of the schools; presentation of training materials on sustainability for students and teachers and sports activities; and energy monitoring and reporting.

In June, a special award will be presented to the most energy efficient school.

Here are some quick tips to help save electricity and water

• Make sure to turn off the tap after washing your hands

• Don't leave the water running while brushing your teeth

• Take a quick shower instead of a long bath

• Make sure to turn the lights off before you leave the room

• Turn off video games once you're done playing

The T22 Project aims to inspire school children to save energy using the power of football and the World Cup.
