This October, McDonald’s Qatar renewed its commitment to Breast Cancer Awareness and Education through a nationwide activation in its mission to ensure through information, empowerment, and support, that no one faces breast cancer alone.
One of the most prevalent forms of cancers globally, according to the World Health Organization, 2020 saw about 2.3 million women diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Research has found that breast cancer treatment can be highly effective, especially when the disease is identified early.
McDonald’s awareness campaign is a heartfelt effort to spread this information to help those affected by breast cancer, through early detection, education, and support. The more you know, the better are the chances, and this is the fundamental purpose the activation stands to achieve.
Holding true to Pinktober, restaurants all over the nation are decorated in pink ribbons and balloons to showcase support and care for this worthy cause. In addition, McDonald’s staff shall be sporting "I Support Breast Cancer Awareness" button pins for the whole month of October to outwardly encourage discussions about this serious condition.
Through their efforts, McDonald’s is hoping to spread awareness and let women know that we are here to celebrate them and their journey. To ensure every woman is well informed that they are not alone and that they have a support system to help them win and break barriers.
Moreover, this campaign is also highly communicated on McDonald’s Qatar’s Facebook and Instagram channels. The activation is built around inspiring women of all ages to obtain yearly medical screenings and keep a keen and close eye for any changes, no matter how small. The principal message McDonald’s wants to convey is that if one makes sure to continually observe closely, a breast cancer diagnosis can either be avoided or be driven into remission if detected at an early stage.
In an effort to reach out from the core of their hearts into the heart of the community, McDonald’s Qatar will be participating in the nation’s first-ever ‘Pink Five’ event - a collaboration with five companies that aims to educate and spread awareness through various activities surrounding the health and wellness of women.
This initiative is part of McDonald’s Corporate Social Responsibility to provide help, education, and awareness. A dedicated message of hope, strength, love, and an earnest commitment of support and acceptance to all women in the country.
