Lieutenant Colonel Khaled Abdulaziz Al Mohannadi, Assistant Director of Planning and Quality Department at the Ministry of Interior (MOI), stated that the Ministry plans to convert all of its services online.
In light of the Metrash program that has seen great success in making payments easier and convenient, the initiative aims to simplify transactions for the public.
Al Mohannadi explained that all services provided by the Ministry will be made accessible online over time.
Furthermore, the assistant director pointed out that providing better services to the public is seen as a top priority for the Ministry.
Speaking on the benefits of adopting this strategy, Al Mohannadi said, “One of the goals of the first strategy and this project is to make all transactions paperless. Our strategy helped us to meet the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The First Strategy 2011-16 aimed at maintaining security and curbing the crimes. Implementing these goals, we shifted to the Second Strategy which put a number of goals such as protecting lives and properties of people and quick response,” he added.
As part of its second strategy, the Ministry’s vision is to be a pioneer at the regional and international level in various aspects which are measured by the global indexes like Global Peace Index and Global Competitiveness Report.
MOI currently has 10 key goals in the field of security, services, administration, and public relation, all of which fall under this strategy.
“The main goals of the Ministry are to maintain safety and curb the crimes in addition to providing the services to the people,” said Al Mohannadi.
He said that the goal of the Ministry is to increase its efficiency to keep pace with mega-events like the 2022 FIFA World Cup which will attract global attention.
“The special importance has been given in the strategy to 2022 FIFA World Cup. The Ministry of Interior will play its role through the Security Committee under Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) to maintain security during the event,” said Al Mohannadi.
He said that the Ministry of Interior is making its contribution in implementing the strategy of security and peace in coordination with other authorities concerned.
