The Ministry of Interior (MOI) Qatar is urging the public to be extra careful as the city may experience heavy rainfall later into the evening.

Some parts of Doha are already partly cloudy and may undergo scattered rains while the temperature level is expected to drop further.

MOI on its official social media pages has stressed on the need for residents and citizens of Qatar to take care of their safety and of those around them, particularly while driving in adverse weather conditions.

The Qatar Meterology Department has also just issued an update on its Twitter page that projects the chances of rainfall in some parts of the city may continue until late evening.

To ensure security on the roads, the MOI is asking people to reduce their speed while driving and to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead of them, more than they would in average weather conditions.

The use of mobile phone while driving is strictly discouraged in addition to the use of hazard lights.

MOI has also advised motorists to brake carefully and gradually and avoid overtaking as much as possible.

Moreover, the Ministry has emphasized that people must be wary of water-loggings that appear in front of them while driving.

The precautionary steps highlighted by MOI call for a conscious effort by all residents and citizens of Doha to avert possible road hazards during this weather.
