On March 2, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) had announced the opening of registration in private schools and preschools in the State of Qatar.

Director of Private Schools Licensing Department (PSLD), Hamad Al Ghali, had pointed out that circulars were sent to private schools and preschools indicating that early registration initiated on March 1 and will continue until October 12, 2021.

“Registration of overseas students, however, will remain open until the end of January 2022. Each school shall determine and announce its mechanism for registration following the Ministry’s laws and regulations in this regard,” he added.

He also noted that the circular provided information in the form of tables that determines the maximum and minimum age for admission in all academic stages.

According to Al Ghali, parents have the option to choose from over 325 private schools and preschools that offer up to 30 different curricula.

Parents can also take advantage of MoEHE’s online services in the private education sector via its Public Services Portal.

The website provides access to a list of private schools and preschools and can be classified based on school name, curricula, geographic area, location, academic level, annual tuition fees, and contact information.

The Director of PSLD said that 107 schools and preschools accept education vouchers, an amount granted by the state to cover tuition fees, during the academic year 2021-22.

Kindly visit MoEHE's website for more information.
