Under the slogan ‘My Values Draw My Identity’, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has launched a new project that aims to enhance the national identity and Qatari culture in private schools and kindergartens for the current academic year.
The project seeks to strengthen the spirit of belonging and loyalty among school students, teachers, school leadership, supervisors, and parents in order to preserve the principles and authentic values of the State of Qatar, as well as to educate school community groups about the importance of Arabic language as an identity for individuals in Qatari society.
Falling within the Ministry’s strategic plan 2018-2022, the increment of programs and activities that enhance Qatari values, heritage and identity, and the respect for other people and their cultures in all stages of private education is the objective of this project.
Additionally, it aims to raise the level of awareness and interest among students’ parents concerning the same.
Assistant Undersecretary for Private Education Affairs at the Ministry Omar Abdulaziz Al Naama noted that various activities and programs which fall within an integrated educational framework will be implemented.
He pointed out that general guidelines for school activities and field trips in private schools and kindergartens were released last academic year, explaining that these activities (both mandatory and optional) help to achieve the ministry's strategy objectives, particularly those related to promoting citizenship and pride in local culture, as well as respect for other people and cultures.
